Honoring our Hamilton Heroes in all shapes and sizes

Every month, we track the number of families we moved into permanent housing to determine if we are on pace to meet our housing goals for the year. Staying on top of this information helps us ask the important questions — of ourselves and others — to ensure we are doing everything possible to get families into safe and stable homes.

In November, 12 families moved into permanent housing with Hamilton Families

In November, we helped 12 families move into permanent housing in the San Francisco Bay Area!

Since July, we have successfully and permanently housed 57 families who were experiencing homelessness. This is a number we can be proud of and, together, we can continue to work towards our goal of ending family homelessness. But before we dive in, we want to share an important reminder: stories of impact like the one below are only possible because of the partnership between our diligent teams of housing professionals and our committed supporters like you. Every hour volunteered, every social media post shared, every dollar donated goes toward our work to support unhoused and housing insecure families in our communities. We are all Hamilton Heroes.

Families moved into permanent housing with Hamilton Families: 65 families from July 2021 to November 2021; 57 families from July 2022 to November 2022.

You should be proud of the progress we’ve made together, tackling issues like our region’s housing crisis, poverty alleviation, workforce development, hunger, and more. But if you need more motivation, take a moment to watch this video — a comic strip inspired by a poem written by youth supporters of Hamilton Families and recited by a youth participant in the Hamilton Families | Shelter. It's about a dream that so many families in our programs share, and it's those dreams that keep us hard at work to accomplish our goal of permanently housing 200 families in our communities.

Families like Cindia’s share that dream. We invite you to spend a moment and meet Cindia — a participant in our programs and Hamilton Hero in her own right — who shares that dream. “I just want to show you that it is worth investing in these programs, because we are families that have dreams and that we contribute to this society. We would love that the experience of each of the participants was to live and not survive.” Watch her story.

This is why we cannot and will not stop working to provide a safe, stable place for families to call home.
